₹40 Crore Offering at Sanwaliya Seth Temple — Cash Count Smashes All Records
Chittorgarh (The Uttam Hindu): Rajasthan’s famous Shri Sanwaliya Seth Temple in Chittorgarh has shattered all past donation records this year. The vault, opened after Diwali, has already produced a staggering ₹40.33 crore in cash, and what’s astonishing is that the counting still isn’t done.
This vault, opened nearly two months later, once again showcased the massive faith devotees hold for Sanwaliya Seth. Five phases of counting are already over, and the sixth is underway. Due to heavy footfall and security protocols, the administration shifted the counting process from the courtyard to the satsang hall. The vault was officially opened on 19 November after the aarti, in the presence of administrative officer Prabha Gautam, temple board chairman Hazari Das Vaishnav, and others.
Officials say this year’s offering might surpass every previous collection — and the numbers so far are supporting that belief. Around 200 staff members are continuously counting cash, yet the final tally remains far away. Once the vault money is counted, offerings received via office counters, online transactions, money orders, and physical donations will be added. Gold, silver, foreign currency, and coins also await sorting and weighing.
The temple traditionally opens its vault 11 times a year — two months after Diwali and around 1.5 months after Holi — and almost every time the previous record gets broken. On average, each vault opening brings in ₹26–27 crore, but this year’s collection has already crossed every known benchmark.
