After talking to the traders, the Chief Minister informed that her government will not only keep the business character of Delhi intact but is also working on several schemes to provide them proper facilities. She said that there is no plan to shift the markets of Delhi elsewhere. We want Delhi's business to flourish, it will increase Delhi's revenue which will help in the development of Delhi.

The Chief Minister also informed that our government has started preparing a blue print for the development of the markets of Old Delhi. We are working on a plan to redevelop the markets here. The Delhi government wants that the shops, small godowns and offices in Old Delhi should remain here. Warehouses and big godowns will be built in the outskirts of Delhi for the storage of their goods. The Chief Minister informed that the previous governments have exploited the businessmen of Delhi and have constantly conspired to spoil the character of Delhi's markets. Our government has formed 'Delhi Traders Welfare Board' for the traders, in which traders have also been included, so that their problems can be properly known and resolved.

Chief Minister Mrs. Rekha Gupta also informed that out of the 15 members of this board, 9 members have been taken from the business class. The objective of this board is to empower the business community, give them social security and make their business more comfortable. This statutory board will act as a bridge between the government and traders, simplify the issues and processes related to traders, promote employment and investment and also operate a welfare fund for their economic interests. The Chief Minister also said that the businessmen of Delhi are no longer alone. The government stands with them for their safety, welfare and prosperity. This board is not an institution but the government's trust in its traders. According to the Chief Minister, this board will not be limited to only policy plans, but will consider relief and compensation to traders in emergency situations like natural disaster, fire, flood. Through this, the government will get timely advice and cooperation from experienced people of the business sector, so that policies can be implemented in a more practical and beneficial manner.
