New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Patanjali has received a big blow from the Delhi High Court in the case of broadcasting misleading and derogatory advertisement against Dabur Chyawanprash. The High Court has put an interim stay on Patanjali's Chyawanprash advertisement. The next hearing in this case will be on July 14.

Actually, Patanjali has been claiming in its advertisement that apart from it, no one else makes Chyavanprash in a way that is in accordance with Ayurveda and scriptures. Dabur India had objected to this claim of Patanjali and filed a petition in the Delhi High Court. They had demanded that this misleading advertisement of Patanjali be banned and two crore rupees be given as compensation. Hearing this petition, the Delhi High Court put a final ban on Patanjali's advertisement. Also, the next date for hearing in the case has been fixed as July 14.

While talking to the media, Advocate Jawahar Lal, a lawyer for Dabur India, said, “Dabur's concern was that Patanjali was insulting all other Chyawanprash brands in its advertisement. In one of its advertisements, they claimed, 'Only we know how to make Chyawanprash according to the scriptures, not others.' This misleads consumers about other Ayurvedic products. The High Court has put an interim stay on Patanjali's advertisement.” He said, “Our only demand was that the advertisement be banned and compensation be given.

After the High Court's decision, Patanjali can no longer show advertisements related to Chyawanprash. However, it will not have any effect on other brands.” Earlier, the Delhi High Court had reprimanded Baba Ramdev for his “Sharbat Jihad” statement. The High Court said that this statement is unacceptable and it could not believe its ears and eyes after hearing it. It had asked Ramdev to give an affidavit stating that he will not make such a statement in future.
