Delhi-NCR air quality dips further with AQI above 400 in multiple areas
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Along with the increasing cold, the air quality level in Delhi-NCR is also deteriorating rapidly, which has increased the problems of the people. The pollution level is continuously increasing and the air is becoming more polluted day by day. Due to the increasing AQI, the residents are showing symptoms like burning sensation in the eyes, cough and difficulty in breathing. Even this morning, the air quality index was recorded above 400 in many parts of the capital. The average AQI of the entire city is 386 and 34 areas are included in the red zone.
Delhi-NCR continues to face respiratory distress, with AQI exceeding 400 in several areas; 34 areas in the red zone: AQI was 416 in ITO and Jahangirpuri, 419 in Anand Vihar, 416 in Chandni Chowk, 409 in Ashok Vihar, 422 in Mundka, 412 in Narela, 408 in Nehru Nagar, 401 in Punjabi Bagh, 402 in RK Puram, 417 in Rohini, 407 in Sonia Vihar, 416 in Vivek Vihar and 443 in Wazirpur, which fall in the very severe category. Apart from this, AQI remained between 300 to 400 in many areas.
The AQI was recorded at 391 in Alipur, 378 in Aya Nagar, 378 in Burari Crossing, 366 on Mathura Road, 386 in Karni Singh area, 355 in DTU, 392 in Dwarka, 349 at IGI Airport, 386 in Jawaharlal Nehru area, 364 on Lodhi Road, 392 in Sirifort, 354 in Shadipur, 372 in Pusa, 396 in Patparganj, 391 in North Campus, 437 in Bawana, 387 in Najafgarh and 379 on Mandir Marg. All these areas are in the red zone.
Meanwhile, according to aqi.in, Delhi's air quality is even worse, with an AQI of 533. Ghaziabad's AQI was 362, Noida's 382, and Gurugram's 306. According to the Meteorological Department, dense fog is expected in Delhi for the next five days. The cold is intensifying. Today, the capital's maximum temperature is expected to be around 25 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature is expected to be 10 degrees Celsius. The temperature is expected to drop further in the coming days. It is estimated that the minimum temperature may reach 9 degrees Celsius, which may further increase the chill.
