New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, a large number of people gathered at Jama Masjid on Saturday and offered prayers together. After the prayers, people greeted each other warmly and exchanged Eid wishes.

Devotees said that Eid comes after a month of fasting, making it a highly awaited and special day. It is considered a reward from Allah after a month of patience, devotion, and prayers. This is why the festival is celebrated with great love and respect.

Message of unity and compassion

People emphasized that the true message of Eid is to spread love and happiness. It is not just about personal joy, but also about sharing happiness with those who are less fortunate. Helping the needy, including them in celebrations, and standing together as a community reflect the true spirit of Eid.

They also highlighted the importance of unity and harmony in society, urging everyone to live together peacefully and strengthen brotherhood.

Security arrangements and peaceful celebrations

Locals mentioned that special security arrangements were in place for the occasion. The police administration remained on alert to ensure that prayers were conducted smoothly. The celebrations took place peacefully without any untoward incidents, allowing people to observe the festival with ease.

Celebrating unity in diversity

People expressed pride in the country’s tradition of communal harmony, often referred to as Ganga-Jamuni culture. Individuals from different religions, including Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians, were seen greeting each other and sharing festive joy, reflecting the spirit of unity.

After offering prayers, devotees thanked Allah for giving them the strength to observe the fasts and the opportunity to celebrate Eid. Many expressed hope to observe the full month of fasting again next year. Pleasant weather further added to the festive atmosphere.
