Massive Fire in Delhi Factory Claims 4 Lives; Flames Rage for Over 12 Hours
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Four people have died in a fire inside a factory in Rithala area of Delhi. Even after nearly 12 hours, the fire has not been completely controlled. 15 fire brigade vehicles were called to the spot, but despite a lot of efforts, smoke kept coming out from inside the building till morning. Fire brigade employees are still trying to extinguish the fire.
According to the information, a fire broke out in a chemical factory near Rithala metro station on Tuesday evening at around 6:30 pm. This is a four-storey building in which polythene is manufactured. The fire first broke out on the ground floor, which quickly engulfed the entire building. The fire incident caused panic. The fire department was informed about the incident.
After several hours of hard work, the fire brigade personnel were able to enter the building. The wall of the building was demolished using a JCB to help the fire brigade douse the fire. The fire brigade team found three burnt dead bodies inside the building.
Fire brigade official Ashok Kumar Jaiswal said, “We received a call about the fire at 7:25 pm. But when we reached, we found that the fire had actually broken out about an hour earlier. Out of fear, they delayed calling the fire brigade and first tried to control the fire on their own. They called us only when the entire factory was reduced to ashes.”
Ashok Kumar Jaiswal said that with the help of a JCB machine, a wall of the building was broken, so that efforts were made to extinguish the fire inside it. He said, "The fire has been extinguished in the lower part. The second and third floors are yet to be reached, from where smoke is coming out rapidly. This will take time. A total of 15 fire brigade vehicles arrived at the spot. The fire brigade teams are continuously trying to completely control the fire."
