Helicopter booking starts for Kedarnath pilgrims, check routes and fares here

Dehradun (The Uttam Hindu): There is important news for devotees planning to visit Kedarnath Temple. The Char Dham Yatra will begin from April 19, and the doors of Kedarnath Dham will open for pilgrims on April 22. For those who want to avoid the trek, helicopter booking has started from April 11 at 12 noon.

Registration mandatory before booking

Pilgrims must note that helicopter tickets can be booked only through the official IRCTC website (heliyatra.irctc.co.in). The booking is valid for travel between April 22 and June 15.

Before booking, registration on the Uttarakhand tourism portal is mandatory. Only after completing this registration can pilgrims log in to the IRCTC portal and book tickets. A maximum of six tickets can be booked using one ID.

Helicopter services to Kedarnath are operated from three main locations—Guptkashi, Phata, and Sersi.

The round-trip fare varies based on distance:

From Guptkashi: ₹12,762

From Phata: ₹10,164

From Sersi: ₹6,390

Warning against cyber fraud

Authorities have issued a strict alert regarding cyber fraud during the pilgrimage season. Every year, cases of fake helicopter ticket bookings are reported. Pilgrims are advised not to trust fake websites, WhatsApp offers, or social media deals claiming cheap tickets.

To avoid fraud and inconvenience, tickets should only be booked through official government platforms.
