International Arms Smuggling Network Busted; 4 Arrested, Weapons Meant for Lawrence and Bambiha Gangs
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Delhi Police’s Crime Branch has exposed a major international arms smuggling network and arrested four people involved in the operation. According to police, the group was preparing to deliver advanced weapons sent from Pakistan via drones to several notorious gangsters.
The seized consignment was reportedly brought into India through Punjab and was meant to be supplied to the Lawrence Bishnoi, Bambiha, Gogi and Himanshu Bhau gangs. The recovered weapons include sophisticated firearms manufactured in Turkey and China. Crime Branch officials received information that the smugglers were planning a major weapon supply in Delhi. Acting on the tip-off, a special team intercepted the suspects in the Rohini area.
A large quantity of modern weapons was recovered during the operation, and the investigation into the entire network is underway. Police said the arrested individuals belong to Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. The consignment was seized in Rohini after the team set up a trap based on specific intelligence inputs.
