Kejriwal Takes a Dig After Rain Chaos in Delhi: ‘Four Engines or Just Four Excuses?’

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The mere 10 minutes of rain in the national capital Delhi on Tuesday exposed the administrative preparations. Connaught Place, considered the most VIP and most expensive area of the capital, was submerged. The roads became ponds, the traffic system came to a standstill and the common people had to face a lot of trouble.

On this, Aam Aadmi Party's national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party. He posted on Instagram and said-

When this is the condition of Connaught Place, the heart of Delhi, it is not difficult to guess the condition of the rest of Delhi. The roads have become ponds in just 10 minutes of rain.

Where has BJP brought Delhi in 5 months?

Is this the speed of the '4 engine' government?

Kejriwal's statement was a direct attack on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the BJP-ruled Municipal Corporation and the Lieutenant Governor. He said that when the entire system is in the hands of a single party, then why the delay in fixing responsibility? When the most high-profile area of the capital is flooded, then it is frightening to imagine how pathetic the condition of common colonies, villages and slums would be. The Aam Aadmi Party termed the Rekha Gupta government as a government of only event management and photoshoots and said that not a single concrete work is visible on the ground in 5 months. The public was hoping that the new face would bring change, but the result was that Delhi has been left on the old track, where the drains were not cleaned, where no preparations were made for drainage, and where the public is in distress but the BJP government is silent. Now people on social media also believe that this tweet of Arvind Kejriwal is not only a taunt, but also an attempt to remind the public that when the Aam Aadmi Party was in power, extensive drain cleaning and anti-waterlogging arrangements were made in Delhi before the monsoon, which had an impact on the ground level. The people of Delhi also want to know whether this is the "four engine" model of BJP, where all the four engines are not working in the same direction but are entangled in different excuses? And are misleading the public? The rains have just started. The real test is yet to come. But the initial results have become a serious warning for the BJP government.
