Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A series of bomb threats in the national capital has kept security agencies on high alert. In the latest incident on Monday morning, threats were issued to blow up the Delhi Assembly and the Red Fort. Following the alert, security arrangements were tightened across the area.

According to officials, the threatening email was received around 7 a.m. by a private school located in Dhaula Kuan. The email claimed that explosions would take place at 9:11 a.m. at the Assembly and the Red Fort.

After receiving the threat, the school administration immediately informed the police. Police and other security agencies then cordoned off areas around the Assembly and the Red Fort and began an extensive search operation. So far, no suspicious object has been found.

Authorities said the source of the email is being traced to determine whether it was a prank or part of a larger conspiracy. Over the past few weeks, several institutions in the capital have received similar fake calls and emails, posing fresh challenges for law enforcement agencies.

Earlier on Thursday, at least three schools in Delhi had also received bomb threats via email. As a precaution, students were evacuated and thorough searches were conducted. Later investigations found those threats to be false.
