Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to Visit Gujarat on January 13
New Delhi / Bhavnagar (The Uttam Hindu): Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, will visit Gujarat on Tuesday, January 13, to participate in the “Atmanirbhar Hanol Mahotsav-2026” being organised in Hanol village of Palitana taluka in Bhavnagar district. This village has emerged as a living example of revered Bapu’s vision of Gram Swaraj and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s resolve of an Ideal Village, owing to the sustained efforts of Union Minister Dr. Mansukhbhai Mandaviya.
Dr. Mansukhbhai Mandaviya has a deep emotional and personal connection with Hanol, as it is his birthplace. He has continuously reviewed development works here and developed the village as a model village. Under his guidance, several innovative projects have been implemented in areas such as basic amenities, sanitation, education, health, agriculture and village industries to realise Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s “Dream Village” vision.
The visit of Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will further strengthen the joint commitment to replicate the Hanol model developed by Dr. Mandaviya across the country as self-reliant and ideal villages. Both Union Ministers view Hanol as an inspiring example of Gram Swaraj, public participation and self-reliance, which can chart a new direction for the development of rural India.
During the Atmanirbhar Hanol Mahotsav-2026, Shri Chouhan will interact with farmers, women self-help groups, youth and local representatives, and discuss a roadmap for sharing Hanol’s experiments and experiences at the national level. In the presence of Dr. Mansukhbhai Mandaviya and other distinguished guests, sessions and activities related to rural development, agricultural innovation, self-reliant village economy and social empowerment will be organised.
As per the scheduled programme, Shivraj Singh Chouhan will depart from Delhi for Ahmedabad on the morning of January 13 and from there reach Hanol village by helicopter. From afternoon till evening, he will participate in various programmes of the Atmanirbhar Hanol Mahotsav-2026, exhibitions and interactions with the local community.
