New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A sensational case of death threats against famous bhajan singer Hansraj Raghuvanshi has come to light. Raghuvanshi, who gained national fame with the song "Mera Bhola Hai Bhandari," has been demanded a ransom of ₹15 lakh. The person making the threat identified himself as a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar gangs. Based on the singer's complaint, Mohali police have registered an FIR against a resident of Madhya Pradesh and initiated an investigation.

Police have registered a case against Rahul Kumar Nagde, a resident of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, under sections 296, 351(2), 308(5) of the IPC and section 67 of the Information Technology Act. According to the complaint, Rahul first met Hansraj Raghuvanshi during a performance at the Mahakal Temple in Ujjain. Gradually, he gained the singer and his family's trust by feigning devotion and claiming to be Hansraj's younger brother.

Accused Rahul also began attending Hansraj's concerts and, posing as a close family member, obtained contact details for Hansraj's team and family members. He also created a fake Instagram profile under the name "Rahul Raghuvanshi" and had Hansraj follow it, posing as the singer's real brother.

According to reports, Rahul also attended Hansraj Raghuvanshi's wedding in 2023 and collected family photos and other details. Under this guise, he began extorting expensive gifts from the singer's fans and organizers. He even lured a woman from Odisha by posing as the singer's brother.

When Hansraj Raghuvanshi and his wife Komal Saklani learned of Rahul's actions, they unfollowed him on social media. Enraged, Rahul began issuing death threats to the singer, his wife, and family over the phone and WhatsApp. He invoked the Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar gangs, demanding ₹1.5 million and threatening to kill the entire family if the money was not paid. Furthermore, the accused posted defamatory material against Hansraj on social media. Police are currently investigating the matter thoroughly.
