Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): YouTuber and actor Bhuvan Bam, known for his digital content and show "Taza Khabar," is currently in the news for a personality rights case. The Delhi High Court heard the matter on Tuesday.

Bhuvan had complained that several of his photos and videos had been uploaded on social media platforms without his permission. Some of these videos were being used to falsely incite people to invest in scams using his name.

Bhuvan Bam filed a petition in the Delhi High Court seeking protection of his identity and personality rights. In the petition, he stated that his photos and videos were being uploaded to various platforms without his permission, which could cause mental and financial harm to him and his fans.

Hearing the case on Tuesday, Delhi High Court Judge Jyoti Singh said, "On the first day, at first glance, no conclusion can be drawn on personality rights. It is very difficult to give a decision on this on the first day. For now, I can only provide protection against unauthorized use."

The court ordered the removal of Bhuvan Bam's photos uploaded without permission. The court stated that a local commissioner would be appointed in the case and that the detailed guidelines of the order would be clear when the full order is uploaded. The next hearing will now be scheduled for February 4th.

The increasing use of such deepfake technology on digital platforms has created problems for celebrities. Bhuvan had previously cautioned fans not to trust any such advice or videos. He also filed a complaint with the Oshiwara police station in Mumbai.

Previously, the Delhi High Court has issued orders to protect the identities of several celebrities, including actors R. Madhavan, NTR Jr., Salman Khan, Pawan Kalyan, Sunil Gavaskar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Karan Johar, and Nagarjuna.
