Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu) - The Bombay High Court has given a blow to actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra, saying that if they want to travel abroad, they will have to deposit Rs 60 crore first.

The couple had sought permission from the court to travel to Los Angeles, USA, and several other countries. The court ruled that there was no restriction on their travel, but they would first have to repay the outstanding amount to businessman Deepak Kothari. Kothari alleges that Shilpa and Raj Kundra took ₹60 crore from him in the name of business investments, but did not return the money and used it for personal expenses.

A team from the Economic Offences Wing

(EOW) of the Mumbai Police visited Shilpa Shetty's home and questioned her for approximately five hours. During this time, the team examined numerous documents. Shilpa stated that she has fully cooperated with the investigating agency and has handed over all documents related to her company, Best Deal TV Private Limited.

According to sources, Raj Kundra is already barred from traveling abroad as agencies have issued a lookout notice against him. Now, following the court's latest order, foreign travel will only be possible for both of them if they deposit ₹60 crore with the court. Currently, the investigation into this entire case is ongoing, and Raj Kundra may be questioned again in the coming days.
