Plot to kill famous comedian foiled; two shooters arrested after recce in Mumbai and Bengaluru

Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): A sensational plot to kill famous comedian and social media influencer Munawar Farooqui has been uncovered. The Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested two shooters of gangster Rohit Godara, Rahul Ramphal and Sahil Ramesh Kumar. During interrogation, the two confessed to conducting a recce of Munawar's homes in Mumbai's Dongri and Bandra areas in September 2025. A plan was then hatched to attack him during an event in Bengaluru, but the plan failed at the last minute.

Delhi Police shared this information with the Mumbai Crime Branch. According to the police, the shooters conducted a recce of Munawar's old home in Dongri between September 10th and 15th, where he occasionally visited. During this time, they learned about Munawar's new home in Bandra, after which they conducted a recce there as well. However, due to a lack of a suitable location and discomfort in Mumbai, the shooters did not carry out their plan.

A senior Mumbai Crime Branch official stated that the investigation has been intensified based on inputs from the Delhi Police. The shooters informed their handler, Rohit Godara, who then plotted the attack in Bengaluru. The shooters knew that Munawar was going to attend an event in Bengaluru. Between September 15th and 20th, they conducted reconnaissance of the venue and Munawar's vehicle. However, the attack failed due to Munawar's last-minute vehicle change and a lack of coordination among the shooters.

The Delhi Police Special Cell is interrogating the shooters, and more revelations are expected soon. This incident raises serious questions about Munawar's security. Police have increased his security and intensified the investigation to find the mastermind behind this conspiracy.
