High Court issues notice to Punjab government in singer Rajveer Jawanda's death case
Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Significant news has emerged regarding the death of late Punjabi singer Rajveer Jawanda. A hearing on the matter was held in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. A petition was filed in the High Court alleging serious negligence against a hospital in Pinjore.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court, hearing the Rajveer Jawanda death case, issued notices to the governments of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and the central government. The court directed all parties to file their replies soon.
It should be noted that on September 27th, Rajveer Jawanda was involved in a horrific road accident near Baddi while traveling to Shimla. While riding, two stray animals suddenly ran in front of his bike. Following the accident, he was on a ventilator for several days, but passed away on October 8th.
Since Jawanda's death, questions of negligence have been raised at the hospital. It is alleged that when she was taken to the Pinjore hospital after the accident, the hospital failed to provide timely first aid. The petition states that if she had received timely and proper medical assistance, her life could have been saved.
The petition was filed by senior lawyer Navkiran Singh. The petition also demands that stricter laws be enacted to prevent such negligence from occurring in the future. Rajveer Jawanda's death has caused an irreparable loss to the Punjabi industry.
