Gangsters Goldy Dhillon and Kulveer Sidhu (Nepali) of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the attack by sharing a post on social media after the shooting. It should be noted that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang had previously carried out two rounds of firing at Kapil's cafe. At least three rounds of bullets were fired at the cafe. However, fortunately, no injuries have been reported. A video of the incident has also surfaced, showing the moments after the shooting.

After the firing, the Lawrence gang wrote, “Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji ki Fateh. I, Kulveer Sidhu and Goldy Dhillon take responsibility for the three firings that took place at Caps Cafe today. We have no enmity with the general public. Those with whom we have a dispute should stay away from us. Those who do illegal work, who make people work and don't pay them, should also be prepared. Those who speak against religion in Bollywood should also be prepared. Bullets can come from anywhere. Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji ki Fateh.”
