Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): The name Kriti Kharbanda instantly brings to mind that charming smile sometimes playful, sometimes serious. Born on October 29, 1990, in Delhi, Kriti never imagined she would one day make her mark in the glittering world of Bollywood. She began her journey with modeling and ad films, later debuting in the Telugu film Boni (2009). After working in several South Indian films, she stepped into Bollywood in 2016 with Raaz Reboot. But the real turning point in her career came in 2017 with the romantic drama Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana.

Bollywood films often portray grand celebrations like weddings on screen, but Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana stood out for its simplicity and emotional depth. The 2017 film turned a simple love story into an unforgettable journey.

For Kriti, the role of Aarti Shukla, a PCS officer from a small Uttar Pradesh town, was not just another assignment. In multiple interviews, she revealed that filming Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana was a deeply emotional and transformative experience. During the wedding sequences, the atmosphere felt so authentic that the line between reality and fiction blurred for her.

She recalled that when she first dressed as a traditional bride, the environment on set the decorations, rituals, and emotional family moments made her feel as if she was living Aarti’s life for real. The emotional intensity of the scene where Aarti walks away from her wedding particularly moved Kriti. This deep connection with her character made her performance exceptionally genuine and memorable.

Kriti Kharbanda has described Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana as the “magical experience” of her career. The film gave her both love and recognition, proving she was much more than a glamorous face, a truly capable actor.

Before this, Kriti had taken on a unique challenge in her Kannada film Prem Adda, where she portrayed a rustic 1980s village girl without makeup. Her naturally fair skin didn’t fit the role, so she worked hard to transform her look. Interestingly, Kriti designed her costumes for the film along with her mother to ensure they looked authentic and grounded.
