Just hours after news of his passing became public, a final message from him was posted on his social media account (Douyin) on Sunday night (January 18th). The message, dated January 14th, read, "I am going far, far away to make a film. Please forgive me for leaving without saying goodbye. Just think I'm shooting somewhere far away. I wanted to keep it a secret, so my apprentice continued posting videos as usual. From my side, you all have a good life. Remember that I love you all." His funeral will be held on January 26th in the Longgang district of Shenzhen, China.
