Milind Soman Turns 59, Shares the Secret Behind His Simple Yet Powerful Fitness Routine

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Actor, supermodel, and fitness icon Milind Soman celebrated his 59th birthday on Tuesday. Known for his simple yet highly effective fitness routine, Milind continues to inspire millions with his disciplined and natural approach to health.

Milind has often spoken about his fitness mantra in various interviews. His routine focuses on a simple breakfast, avoiding tea and coffee, regular exercise, yoga, meditation, and staying away from oily food. These habits form the foundation of his belief that “Health is Wealth.”

In one of his interviews, Milind revealed that he follows unique workouts inspired by nature that keep him energized throughout the day in just 15–20 minutes. He often exercises on an open terrace during rain, climbs mountains, or cycles for several kilometers. Interestingly, he does not stick to a fixed workout schedule—he adjusts his exercises based on the weather, location, and mood. Milind is also an avid runner, seen taking 20,000 steps through Stockholm’s forests or trekking in the Swiss Alps. According to him, running is not just an exercise it’s a form of meditation.

A video of Milind went viral on social media where he was seen cycling 80 km wearing running sandals.

Milind often turns everyday activities into workouts. He includes cycling in his daily commute, which strengthens his leg muscles and tones his abs. His favorite bodyweight exercise is pull-ups, he even performs them using tree branches in the forest, calling it “forest bathing,” where nature becomes the gym.

The actor also practices handstands regularly to improve balance and core strength. Push-ups are his signature move—he can perform between 50 to 100 (or more) in a single stretch. Milind believes push-ups are the best exercise to strengthen the chest, shoulders, and triceps.

He considers planks as the best exercise to fight belly fat, while yoga and meditation form a crucial part of his daily routine. His mornings begin with pranayama, which helps him control his breathing and achieve mental calmness. Swimming, he says, acts as a great energy booster.

Milind’s diet is extremely simple, he eats fruits, green vegetables, whole grains, and meat in moderation. He stays away from packaged foods, drinks 7–8 glasses of water daily and gives top priority to proper sleep. The actor also avoids tea and coffee completely.
