New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken suo motu cognizance of reports alleging obscenity in the song “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke.” Acting under the National Commission for Women Act 1990, the Commission has initiated action over the content of the song.

Summons have been issued to Nora Fatehi, Raqueeb Alam, Sanjay Dutt, producer Venkat K. Narayan of KVN Group, and director Kiran Kumar. The Commission shared details of the action through a post on social media platform X.

According to the NCW, the song appears to be sexually provocative and objectionable at first glance and may violate provisions of the Indian Penal Code, the Information Technology Act, and the POCSO Act. All five individuals have been asked to appear before the Commission with relevant documents on March 24 at 12:30 pm, failing which appropriate legal action may be taken.
