Pankaj Tripathi’s mother, Hemvati Devi, passes away at 89 in ancestral village

Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): A very sad news has come from Bollywood. Smt. Hemvati Devi, mother of actor Pankaj Tripathi, known for his simplicity and powerful acting, has passed away. She was 89 years old. She passed away on Friday, October 31, at the family's ancestral home in Belsand, Gopalganj district, Bihar. Pankaj Tripathi, who was very close to his mother, was present with her during her final moments.

According to an official statement issued by the Tripathi family, Mrs. Hemvati Devi had been unwell for some time. She passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family. The statement said, "We are deeply saddened to inform you that Mrs. Hemvati Devi, beloved mother of Mr. Pankaj Tripathi, has passed away peacefully... Pankaj Tripathi was by her side."

Pankaj's mother's last rites were performed in Belsand on Saturday, attended only by close family members, relatives and friends.

The family has requested everyone's privacy during this difficult time. The statement further said, "The Tripathi family is going through this profound grief and requests everyone to keep Mrs. Hemvati Devi in their prayers and memories. The family also requests that the media and well-wishers respect their privacy at this time and allow them to grieve in peace."

Coming from a farming family in Gopalganj, Pankaj Tripathi's life was deeply influenced by his mother, Mrs. Hemvati Devi. He has often stated in interviews that it was her who instilled in him the values of discipline, humility, and compassion, which have remained integral to his life even after his success.
