Shehnaaz Gill Turns Producer with “Ik Kudi,” Calls It Her Most Special Project

Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): Actress, singer, and now producer Shehnaaz Gill, known for her simplicity, energy, and candid nature, has added a new milestone to her career. On Friday, Shehnaaz officially made her debut as a film producer with “Ik Kudi,” which hit theatres across the country. The film marks not only a turning point in her professional journey but also holds a special place in her heart. Shehnaaz says this is “just the beginning” and she has “much more to achieve ahead.”

In an interview with IANS, Shehnaaz shared that “Ik Kudi” is not just a movie for her it’s an emotion. “This project represents a personal journey that I will carry with me forever,” she said, adding that the experience has tested her both as an artist and as a producer.

Talking about taking on the role of a producer, Shehnaaz said, “Being a producer comes with many responsibilities from choosing the right story to managing the entire team. I loved the story of ‘Ik Kudi’ so much that I decided to not only act in it but also produce it. It’s a film that deserved to be made.”

Shehnaaz admitted that she took a “big gamble” with the film and is now eagerly waiting to see how audiences respond. Over the years, she has played many roles — singer, actress, reality show star, and now producer. When asked what’s next, she smiled and said, “This is just the beginning; there’s still a lot more to come.”

For Shehnaaz, every new experience brings a lesson, and she calls “Ik Kudi” the most emotional chapter of her career so far. Though she has debuted in multiple fields before, she believes this project is her most special and personal one yet.

The film “Ik Kudi” tells the story of a girl’s journey to find the right life partner. Directed and written by Amarjeet Singh, the film was initially scheduled to release on September 19, but due to floods in Punjab, its release was postponed to October 31.
