Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): Trouble may increase for actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra in the ₹60 crore fraud case. A new and significant revelation has emerged regarding the alleged multi-crore fraud against investors through the company Best Deal.

Investigation by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police has revealed that the fraud is not limited to just Rs 60 crore, but is much more than that.

In this case, the EOW has recorded the statements of four former employees of the company, including the former Chief Financial Officer (CFO), a former accountant, and two former directors. The investigating agency is now conducting a thorough investigation into the entire financial transactions and investment process. To further the investigation, the branch will soon appoint a forensic auditor to examine the company's bank accounts. In addition to Raj Kundra, the case may also reveal the names of several other individuals who may have assisted in the fraud.

Investigating officers say that the matter will be cleared after the forensic audit report comes and the audit report will be available before filing the charge sheet.

The EOW investigation has revealed that investors' money was continuously circulating between companies linked to Raj Kundra and expenses were shown in the names of the companies on the balance sheet. According to the EOW statement, when a customer placed an order after seeing a product advertisement on TV from Raj Kundra's company Best Deal, instead of taking the order directly from the seller company, Raj Kundra would give it to his own company Statement Media Solutions (SMS) to purchase. After purchasing the product, it was also delivered through his own courier company SLS Logistics, whereas the company's balance sheet and the documents shown to the investors showed that the services were being taken from different companies.

According to EOW officials, although Raj Kundra's name is not listed as a director in SMS and SLS Logistics, the directors of both companies were close to him. The investigation also revealed that SMS failed to make actual payments to most vendors, despite the payments being shown on record. These revelations have increased Raj Kundra's troubles.
