Vijay named Chief Ministerial candidate: TVK party unveils election strategy

Hyderabad (The Uttam Hindu): Actor Vijay's party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), held an important meeting. A resolution was passed regarding the chief ministerial face. The resolution nominated party president Vijay as the chief ministerial candidate. For the first time since the Karur stampede, Vijay addressed party workers at the special general council meeting.

During the meeting, he stated that the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections will be a contest solely between the TVF and the ruling DMK party. In a strong contest, the TVK will win 100%. A total of 12 resolutions were passed during the meeting, including issues such as the safety of Tamil Nadu women, the repeated arrests of Indian fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy, and the Special Revision Procedure (SIR) for voter lists.
