Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Senior Congress leaders from Haryana including Deepender Hooda, Varun Maulana, Satpal Brahmachari and Jai Prakash on Monday held a joint press conference and levelled serious allegations against the BJP accusing it of indulging in “horse-trading” and unethical political practices.

The Congress leaders claimed that they possess audio recordings allegedly involving BJP leaders, which they said would expose attempts to influence political proceedings. They further alleged that the BJP tried to manipulate the functioning of the Haryana Legislative Assembly to its advantage.

Raising the stakes, the leaders also accused the BJP of playing what they described as an “even dirtier game” during the recent Rajya Sabha elections in Haryana. Despite this, they asserted that the Congress, guided by its central leadership, managed to emerge victorious and uphold democratic values.

The MPs also questioned the presence and activities of RSS and BJP leaders in Shimla, alleging that the hill town had effectively turned into a temporary headquarters for the RSS over the past few days. They demanded clarity on the purpose of these meetings and accused the BJP of operating behind closed doors.

The press conference marks an escalation in the political confrontation between the Congress and the BJP in Haryana, with both sides expected to intensify their attacks in the coming days.
