Haryana: Hindu groups insist on havan-yagna and Hanuman Chalisa outside church; heavy police deployment
Hisar (The Uttam Hindu): The administration has been put on high alert after the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal announced a religious event near an old church in the city on the occasion of Christmas. A large police force has been deployed around the place of worship to deal with any untoward situation. As a precaution, Vajra vehicles, water cannons, and three police companies have been deployed in the area.
Haryana: Hindu organizations insist on performing havan-yagna and reciting Hanuman Chalisa in front of the church, water cannons and heavy police force deployed: Actually , a controversy has arisen regarding the 'Hindu Shakti Sangam' program to be organized on 25th December. A section of local people has objected to performing havan-yagna and reciting Hanuman Chalisa in front of the church on Christmas day and has demanded cancellation of the program. In view of the growing controversy, the police administration has appointed two DSPs as nodal officers and has deployed additional security force. The Municipal Corporation has also got the posters related to the program removed, while there is also a demand to remove the flags that have been installed.
According to reports, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal are organizing a Hindu Shakti Sangam at Krantiman Park. Several senior Bajrang Dal officials will participate in this event, scheduled for Thursday afternoon. A havan-yagya and tribute program has been organized in Krantiman Park, in front of the church at Matka Chowk, to mark the martyrdom day of Swami Shraddhanand. Hanuman Chalisa will also be recited from 2 pm to 5 pm, and a large crowd is expected to gather.
Bajrang Dal National Convenor Kishan Prajapati is also expected to attend this event. Meanwhile, St. Thomas Church, located directly opposite, will host religious events on Christmas Day, which are also expected to draw a large crowd. The administration has made strict security arrangements for both events.
It's worth noting that the 160-year-old St. Thomas Church, located opposite Krantiman Park, celebrates Christmas every year on December 25th. Special events are being organized this year as well. According to Hisar police, approximately 250 police officers, including two DSPs, two inspectors, and 40 to 50 women police officers, have been deployed in Krantiman Park, the church complex, and surrounding areas to maintain law and order.
