Panchkula (The Uttam Hindu): The Justice Struggle Morcha has announced that its protest against the Chandigarh administration will intensify following the suicide of senior IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar. The Morcha stated that the Haryana government has fulfilled its responsibilities, and now it is the turn of Chandigarh police to take action.

Advocate Ravi Gautam, Vice President of the Morcha’s legal cell, said that the Haryana government took positive steps by complying with the demand to remove the DGP and Rohtak SP. The Morcha now plans to pressure the Chandigarh administration for further action.

The Morcha announced a march from Matka Chowk to Punjab Raj Bhavan on Wednesday at 3 PM. Committee Chairman Retired Associate Professor Jaynarayan said that at 3:30 PM, a peaceful march from Sector-17 will deliver a memorandum to Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulabchand Kataria.

Earlier, during a Mahapanchayat at Guru Ravidas Temple in Sector-20, the administration was given a 48-hour ultimatum to arrest the DGP and former SP. The deadline ended on Tuesday, but no concrete action was taken by the administration.

Meanwhile, a committee meeting was held at Valmiki Temple, Sector-24, on Tuesday evening. Members met with Puran Kumar’s family, and Chairman Jaynarayan urged all organizations to continue their fight for justice peacefully. Committee member Gurmel Dhabi clarified that any statements of satisfaction regarding government action by individual spokespersons or members are personal opinions. So far, no agreement has been reached between the family and administration.
