Una/Gagret (The Uttam Hindu): Three people were killed and two others were seriously injured in a tragic road accident in Gagret area of ​​Una district of Himachal Pradesh. The accident occurred this morning when an ambulance was going to DMC Ludhiana carrying a patient referred from Tanda Medical College Kangra.

Tragic accident: Ambulance fell into a ditch on Himachal-Punjab border, 3 dead-2 injured; were going to Ludhiana with the patient : According to information, the ambulance went out of control and fell into a deep ditch in Manguwal area of ​​Punjab, ahead of Gagret. In the accident, Sanjeev Kumar, Omkar Chand and Ramesh Chand, all three residents of Pathiyar, Nagrota Bagwan (Kangra), died on the spot. Ambulance driver Bobby and female passenger Renu were taken out of the ditch in critical condition with the help of local people and admitted to Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur.

It is being told that the road where the accident happened was submerged due to heavy rains for the last few days. Initial estimates are that the ambulance driver lost control due to poor visibility and inability to judge the road. However, the exact cause of the accident will be revealed only after a police investigation.

After the accident, the local people immediately reached the spot and helped the police and administration in taking the injured out of the ditch. The police have recovered the bodies of the three deceased and sent them for postmortem and have started investigating the accident. The family first admitted the patient to Tanda Medical College, from where he was referred to DMC Hospital in Ludhiana when his condition became critical. Unfortunately, this tragic accident happened before he could reach Ludhiana.
