Himachal Pradesh (The Uttam Hindu): MP and actor Kangana Ranaut was met with protests and black flags from Youth Congress members during her recent visit to disaster-affected areas in Manali. The protesters expressed anger at what they describe as Kangana’s delayed response to the flooding and damage in her constituency.

The incident occurred in Patlikuhal, Naggar region (Kullu-Manali), where residents had experienced extensive losses during recent rains. Youth Congress activists raised slogans such as “Kangana go back” and claimed that the MP did not show up when most needed.

Kangana, in turn, defended her presence, saying she too has suffered losses. She said her restaurant business had dropped dramatically (earning just around ₹50 one day), while she continues to maintain overheads running into lakhs of rupees.

During the protest, local residents also questioned whether Kangana is doing enough for relief efforts and asked why the MP’s visit came only after things started to stabilize. The confrontation briefly escalated when BJP workers accompanying her attempted to counter the protest. Police had to step in to calm both sides.

The protest reflects growing dissatisfaction among locals over what they perceive as delayed action from their political representatives in times of crisis.
