Horrific accident! 20 killed, 10 injured in bus-truck collision

Aurangabad (The Uttam Hindu): News of a tragic road accident has emerged from Telangana's Rangareddy district. 20 people were killed and more than 10 injured in the horrific accident that occurred this morning within the Cyberabad Commissionerate limits.


The accident occurred near the Khanpur Gate in the Chevella division when a speeding truck coming from the wrong direction collided head-on with a TGRTC passenger bus. The impact was so severe that the bus was severely damaged, and gravel loaded on the truck fell inside the bus, hitting several passengers. Police and rescue teams arrived at the scene immediately after receiving information about the incident. A rescue operation was carried out using a JCB to remove those buried under the gravel. All the injured have been admitted to a nearby government hospital, where the condition of several is reported to be critical.


According to eyewitnesses, the accident was so horrific that many passengers died on the spot. State Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar expressed grief over the tragic accident and directed officials to expedite relief work and provide the best possible treatment to the injured. Following the accident, emergency response teams arrived at the scene and began rescue operations. Officials have ordered an investigation into the cause of the accident. Initial investigations suggest that the accident was caused by speeding and negligence.
