New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): At least 11 people, including six cabin crew members, reportedly experienced dizziness and nausea during Air India flight AI-130 from London to Mumbai on Monday. Air India in its official statement, confirmed that five passengers and two crew members complained of feeling unwell during various phases of the flight. The flight operated by a Boeing 777 aircraft landed safely in Mumbai, where medical teams were on standby.

Upon arrival, two passengers and two crew members were taken to the airport’s medical facility for further evaluation and were later discharged. While the exact cause is under investigation, preliminary observations suggest food poisoning may be the likely reason. The airline clarified that there was no sign of cabin depressurization as the emergency oxygen masks were not deployed during the flight.

Experts noted that a drop in cabin pressure would have triggered oxygen mask deployment, which did not occur. Additionally, the pilots remained unaffected, as they receive their meals separately after passengers are served. Aviation safety protocols often require pilots to be served meals from different kitchens to avoid simultaneous food-related illnesses ensuring continued control of the aircraft.
