Threat to blow up one of the 7 wonders of India with RDX; Security expanded

Agra (The Uttam Hindu): Security agencies were on alert after receiving a threatful message to blow up Taj Mahal on Saturday. Tourism department received an email from Kerala,  which said that Taj Mahal would be blown up at 3:30 with RDX. Immediately after receiving the email CISF, Taj Security Police, Bomb Disposal Squad, Dog Squad and Archaeological Department conducted a thorough search operation in the Taj Mahal premises for three hours.


This threat was sent to Delhi Police, UP Tourism and other officials from the email ID of a person named 'Savvaku Shankar' at around 7 in the morning. DCP City Sonam Kumar said that this email turned out to be fake (hoax). A case has been registered in the cyber police station and investigation has been started.


Security forces are keeping a close watch

In view of security, vigilance was increased at the eastern and western gates of the Taj Mahal. Tourists were not allowed to go to the pen. Every activity was monitored through CCTV cameras. During the investigation, the security forces thoroughly searched the main dome, mosque complex, jasmine floor, garden and corridors, but no suspicious object was found.


ACP Taj Security Syed Areeb Ahmed said that similar mails have been sent in other parts of the country as well. Cyber ​​cell is investigating. To avoid panic among tourists, the search operation was termed as a mock drill. At present, Taj Mahal is completely safe, but security agencies are on alert mode.
