Airbus Technical Directive Impacts Flights: Air India–IndiGo Face Delays, Advisory Issued for Passengers
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Air travellers may face delays in the coming days as Airbus has issued new technical guidelines for A320 aircraft worldwide. The directive is expected to affect both Air India and IndiGo, whose fleets largely consist of A320 planes. This may lead to significant disruptions in domestic flight schedules. Meanwhile, Japan’s ANA Airlines has cancelled 65 flights due to the same issue.
Air India posted on X stating that, following the new Airbus instructions, its A320 aircraft will undergo software and hardware upgrades. Because of these updates, flight operations may experience delays and longer travel times. The airline advised passengers to check their flight status before arriving at the airport by visiting the official website or contacting the helpline numbers 011-6969329333 and 011-69329999. Services may remain affected until the entire A320 fleet is fully reset.
IndiGo also announced that passenger safety remains its top priority. As per the technical directives issued by Airbus, mandatory updates are being carried out on all A320 aircraft in its fleet. The airline stated that some flights may operate on revised schedules. Their teams will remain available 24 hours a day for assistance, rebooking, and providing timely information to travellers.
