New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): With the assistance of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), wanted criminal Anil Kumar Reddy has been arrested from the UAE and brought to India. He was wanted on charges of fraud, criminal breach of trust, and criminal intimidation in several cases, the CBI informed. The CBI coordinated the return of wanted fugitive Anil Kumar Reddy Yeddula from the UAE to India through Interpol channels. The CBI's International Police Cooperation Unit (IPUC) had issued a Red Notice against Anil Kumar Reddy in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the NCB-Abu Dhabi. The CBI had issued this Red Notice through Interpol in this case on September 5, 2022, at the request of the Andhra Pradesh Police.

UAE authorities subsequently arrested the fugitive Anil and decided to hand him over to Indian agencies. On Thursday, Anil Kumar Reddy was escorted from Dubai to Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport by a Dubai police team. After completing all formalities, he was handed over to an Andhra Pradesh police team at the airport.

Last month, the CBI in India, in collaboration with the NCB-Kuala Lumpur, successfully executed a major international operation. Under the Interpol cooperation system, three Red Notice individuals, Sridharan Subramaniam, Pratheefkumar Selvaraj, and Navindra Raj Kumaresan, were deported from India to Malaysia.

According to Malaysian authorities, the three individuals were wanted in serious cases related to organized criminal activities. The offenses were alleged to have been committed with the intent to illegally acquire financial gain, power, or influence. The NCB-Kuala Lumpur reported that when the individuals arrived in India from the United Kingdom, immigration officials at Mumbai International Airport denied them entry into India based on the Red Notice.

Subsequently, Malaysian authorities formally requested NCB-New Delhi for assistance in transferring these individuals to Malaysia for further legal proceedings. In response to this request, an escort team from the Royal Malaysian Police arrived in Mumbai on January 25th. With the coordination and cooperation of NCB-New Delhi and other relevant Indian agencies, the entire process was completed smoothly, and the three wanted individuals were safely transferred to Malaysia.
