Arvind Kejriwal acquitted in liquor case, breaks down emotionally; says he lived honestly
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu)– Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been acquitted in the Delhi liquor policy case along with senior party leader Manish Sisodia. During the court proceedings, Kejriwal became emotional and broke down, after which Sisodia consoled him. Reacting to the verdict, Kejriwal said the decision had proved that the allegations against him and his party were false and that he had always earned his livelihood honestly.
After the acquittal, Kejriwal said he had full faith in the judicial system and thanked the court for delivering justice. He stated that truth had ultimately prevailed and expressed gratitude to those who supported him during the difficult period. He reiterated that both he and Sisodia had worked with honesty and dedication and said the verdict cleared the party of all allegations.
Kejriwal also alleged that political opponents had conspired to weaken his party by filing false cases and jailing its leaders. He said the country faces serious issues such as inflation, unemployment and pollution, and governments should focus on solving these problems instead of targeting rivals. His wife Sunita Kejriwal also reacted to the verdict, saying that truth always prevails and faith is stronger than any power.
