Ayodhya bomb plotter Abdul Rehman killed in jail attack by Kashmiri inmate
Faridabad (The Uttam Hindu): Shocking news has emerged from Faridabad district in Haryana. 20-year-old terrorist Abdul Rehman, who was imprisoned in the district jail, has been murdered.
According to reports, the attack occurred inside the prison, where another inmate attacked him with a sharp object, striking him on the head. Police spokesman Yashpal Singh said the attacker, identified as Arun Chaudhary, is a Kashmiri youth. Abdul Rahman was attacked Sunday night, and he died on the spot.
It is noteworthy that Abdul Rahman was arrested near Pali village on March 2, 2025. At that time, he was carrying two hand grenades and was plotting to detonate a bomb in Ayodhya. He was said to be a resident of Milkipur, Uttar Pradesh. Abdul Rahman was also found with some videos containing sensitive information related to the Ram Temple. Based on this, the Special Task Force (STF) team arrested him. The two hand grenades found with him were immediately defused.
Meanwhile, the accused who attacked and killed jailed terrorist Abdul Rehman was initially lodged in a Jammu and Kashmir jail and was later transferred to Faridabad jail. He was also lodged in a high-security barrack. Abdul Rehman's murder in jail has raised questions about the security system. This is not the first time a prisoner has been attacked in jail, but despite such strict security arrangements, it is worrying.
