Big decision by Government: Singing 'Vande Mataram' compulsory in all schools
Gorakhpur (The Uttam Hindu) : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced during the Ekta Padyatra held in Gorakhpur that singing of 'Vande Mataram' will be made compulsory in all schools in Uttar Pradesh. He said, "No religion can be greater than the nation. 'Vande Mataram' awakened India's dormant consciousness during the freedom movement; opposing it today is not appropriate."
The Chief Minister, speaking at the Unity March held on Monday to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna, Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, said that respecting the national anthem is everyone's duty. He said, "Any individual, opinion, or religion that stands in the way of the nation cannot be allowed to divide society."
He said that no individual, belief, or religion can be greater than the nation. Anyone who stands in the way of faith or the nation should be put aside. For some people, their personal beliefs and religion still take precedence. Referring to a Samajwadi Party MP's refusal to sing Vande Mataram, the Chief Minister said that such people attend events honoring Jinnah but do not participate in events commemorating Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary.
It is our responsibility to uncover the causes that divide society. Divisions based on caste, region, and language are part of a conspiracy to create new Jinnahs. We must ensure that no Jinnahs are born again in India. If a Jinnah dares to emerge, he must be buried before he can be challenged.
