 New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): Today is the second day of the 16-member Election Commission team, led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, on its visit to Bihar. The team is also attending several important meetings at Hotel Taj in Patna on Sunday. Following these meetings, the Election Commission will hold an important press conference at 2 pm.


Bihar is scheduled to hold assembly elections later this year, but the dates have not yet been announced. However, given the Election Commission's visit and press conference, it is anticipated that the election dates may be announced soon. Bihar Assembly Elections: Big EC press conference today at 2 pm, will voting dates be announced? : As per the schedule, the Election Commission team will hold a meeting with the officials of enforcement agencies from 9:30 am to 11 am. From 11:30 am to 12 noon, there will be a meeting with the Chief Electoral Officer, State Police Nodal Officer and Central Armed Police Force Nodal Officers. From 12 pm to 1 pm, the election preparations in the state will be reviewed with the Chief Secretary, DGP and other senior officials. After these meetings, a press conference of the Commission will be held at 2 pm, in which information will be given about the preparations so far and the upcoming strategy.


The Election Commission's visit will conclude on Sunday evening, after which Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the two other Election Commissioners will return to Delhi on an Air India flight at 4:10 pm. The Commission met with representatives of political parties in meetings held on Saturday. During these meetings, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar stated that all parties expressed their gratitude to the Commission for successfully completing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise and purifying the voter list.
