Bihar elections: NDA releases manifesto, promises 1 crore jobs and metro in 4 cities

Patna (The Uttam Hindu): The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), seeking to consolidate power in Bihar, released its manifesto on Friday. This time, the NDA has named it the "Sankalp Patra." The manifesto promises jobs and employment for every youth in Bihar. It also announces a grant of ₹2 lakh each for women entrepreneurs.

Nadda, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Union Ministers Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi and Upendra Kushwaha were present on the occasion of releasing the manifesto. A developed Bihar has been envisioned in the NDA's resolution letter, for which 25 major resolutions have been fixed. According to this, more than 1 crore government jobs and employment will be provided. Along with this, employment will be given to the youth on the basis of their skills by conducting a skill census. The target has been set to develop Bihar as a global skilling hub by establishing mega skill centers in every district.


Emphasizing women's empowerment, the Chief Minister's Women's Employment Scheme provides women with financial assistance of up to 2 lakh rupees. The NDA has promised to make one crore women "lakhpati didis." Additionally, "Mission Crorepati" includes a plan to work towards making selected women entrepreneurs millionaires.


The resolution provides for assistance of ₹10 lakh to various occupational groups of the Extremely Backward Classes—such as Tanti, Tatma, Nishad, Mallah, Teli, Tamoli, Kewat, Gangota, Bind, Noniya, Carpenter, Dhanuk, Blacksmith, Potter, Barber, Craftsman, Thathera, Mali, Chandravanshi, Halwai, Kanu, Dangi, Turha, Amat, Kevart, Rajbanshi, Gaderia, etc. The NDA also proposes the formation of a high-level committee headed by a retired Supreme Court judge to study the social and economic conditions of the Extremely Backward Classes and make recommendations for their empowerment.


Before releasing the manifesto, the NDA's Manifesto Committee met in the capital, Patna, to finalize the key points and promises of the manifesto. It incorporates key points from the manifestos of all coalition partners. The NDA will present the Bihar Gati Shakti Master Plan. Seven expressways will be built and 3,600 km of rail track will be modernized. The Amrit Bharat Express and Namo Rapid Rail services will be expanded, and metro services will be introduced in four new cities.
