Bihar elections: Tej Pratap Yadav to contest from Mahua, JJD announces first list of candidates

Patna (Uttam Hindu News) – Amidst the excitement surrounding the Bihar Assembly elections, former minister Tej Pratap Yadav has released the first list of candidates under the banner of his new party, the Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD). The JJD has announced the names of 21 candidates in the first list, including Tej Pratap Yadav, who will contest from the Mahua assembly seat.


Party state president Madan Singh Yadav released the first list of candidates at a press conference held at Gautam Apartments on Monday. He stated that Tej Pratap himself will contest from the Mahua assembly seat in Vaishali district. The list includes 21 candidates, primarily from the Yadav, Kushwaha, and Other Backward Classes.


Madan Singh Yadav said, "Janshakti Janata Dal will become the true voice of the people of Bihar. We will fight for social justice, development, and youth empowerment. Tej Pratap Yadav will contest from Mahua, his home turf. He won from this seat on an RJD ticket from 2015-2020." He said the party has formed an alliance with five smaller parties: Vikas Vanchit Insaan Party (VIP), Bhojpuriya Jan Morcha (BJM), Pragatisheel Janata Party (PJA), Waajib Adhikar Party (WAP), and Samyukta Kisan Vikas Party (SKVP). Its election symbol is the 'Black Board,' a symbol of education and change.


According to the list, Vikas Kumar has been nominated from Belsan, Madan Yadav from Shahpur, Gulshan Yadav from Bakhtiyarpur, Ajit Kushwaha from Vikramganj, Neeraj Rai from Jagdishpur, and Avinash from Atri. In addition, Prem Kumar will contest from Wazirganj, Awadh Kishore Jha from Benipur, Shankar Yadav from Maner, Dinesh Kumar Surya from Dumraon, and Ashutosh from Govindganj. Meenu Kumari has been fielded from Patna Sahib, Sanjay Yadav from Madhepura, Torif Rahman from Narkatiaganj, Braj Bihari Bhatt from Kuchaykot, Ravi Raj from Hisua, Jai Singh from Mahnar, Pushpa Kumari from Baniapur, and Surabhi Yadav from Mohiuddin Nagar.


Elections for Bihar's 243 assembly seats are scheduled for two phases. Voting for the first phase is scheduled for November 6 and the second phase on November 11, with results declared on November 14.
