New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The car bombing near the Red Fort Metro Station on Monday shocked the entire nation. Eight people have been confirmed dead in the incident. Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) conductor Ashok Kumar also lost his life in the blast. His family is now in deep grief.

Ashok Kumar's brother, Devendra Kumar, told IANS that his brother was returning home after completing his duties as usual. He was a conductor on a cluster bus in Delhi and lived in a rented room there. He has three children: two daughters and a son.

Devendra Kumar said that when news of the accident broke, no one had any idea that Ashok could be among them. A list was released, listing eight people dead and about 20 injured. When we checked the mobile number, Ashok's name was also there. We were shocked. Then, our police station received a notification that Ashok Kumar had died.

Devendra Kumar said that the family is in shock over Ashok's death. His son and daughters frequently cry when they see their father's photos. The family is in disbelief that Aashiq is no more.

He said that another deceased has been identified as Lavekesh Kumar, a resident of Hasanpur, Haryana. When Lavekesh's son called, the call was answered by the in-charge of the Red Fort outpost. He said, "I have the phone." Only then did it become clear that Lavekesh had also perished in the accident.

Police and forensic teams arrived at the scene immediately after the incident and began an investigation. Currently, Delhi Police has sealed off the area, and the blast is being investigated from multiple angles. Security agencies are working to determine the true cause of the blast and any possible involvement.
