According to religious beliefs, devotees do not face any obstacles in their Chardham Yatra if they start their journey from Yamunotri. Yamunotri is the origin of the Yamuna River. Yamuna is the sister of Yamraj and has been blessed with the blessing of removing all suffering through her waters. It is believed that devotees who bathe in Yamunotri are freed from the fear of death. Like every year, this time too, lakhs of devotees are expected to arrive to visit Baba Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham.
