"China cannot be ignored, Shashi Tharoor's big statement on 'Dragon' amid India-Pak conflict

Washington (The Uttam Hindu): Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, leading a team of Indian delegation has given a huge statement about China in America. He said that China is a factor that cannot be ignored in the conflict between India and Pakistan. He said that before the conflict with Pakistan, there was a softening in the relations between Delhi and Beijing, which seemed to be progressing well. Tharoor said that China also has a huge interest in Pakistan.

Tharoor targets Pakistan

During a conversation with representatives of think tanks held at the Indian Embassy in the US, Shashi Tharoor said that the biggest single project under the Belt and Road Initiative is the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. Targeting Pakistan, he said that 81 percent of Pakistan's defense equipment comes from China.

However, he said that it would be wrong to use the word defense here, because Pakistan uses these cesses to attack. Regarding the clash between the Indian and Chinese armies in the Galwan Valley, he said that even after the clash in 2020, we had softened relations with China in September last year, which was progressing well before the India-Pakistan confrontation.
