COVID Fear Returns: New Variant Arises Daily Cases Upto to 269
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The new variant of Covid-19 infection has again become dangerous. On Friday, there was relief due to the decrease in active cases, but the tension has increased due to more than 250 new cases coming in the last 24 hours. Currently, the number of active cases of Covid has reached 7400 in the entire country.
The Union Health Ministry released the data till 8 am on June 14. According to the Health Ministry, 269 new cases have been registered in the last 24 hours. On Friday, the number of active cases across the country was 7131. After the new cases, the number of active cases in India has increased to 7400. Covid infection has killed 9 people in the last 24 hours. Maharashtra has reported the highest number of deaths at 4, while 3 people suffering from infection have died in Kerala. One person each has also lost their lives in Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu.
The deceased in Kerala include three men aged 83, 67 and 61 years. In Maharashtra, a 79-year-old man who was already suffering from diabetes has died. An 85-year-old man, who also had kidney problems, has died. Apart from these, two people aged 55 and 34 were also suffering from the infection and died. The infection has killed a 70-year-old woman in Rajasthan, while a 73-year-old man suffering from several diseases has also died in Tamil Nadu.
The new variant of Covid has spread to all the states of the country except 3 states Tripura, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh. The new variant has attacked Kerala the most, where more than 2 thousand cases have been registered so far. After that, states like Gujarat, West Bengal, Delhi and Maharashtra are included in this list.
