CP Radhakrishnan will be NDA's Vice Presidential candidate, JP Nadda announced

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu)- BJP National President JP Nadda has announced the name of the NDA candidate for the post of Vice President. Nadda said that the NDA's candidate for the post of Vice President will be CP Radhakrishnan, who is currently the Governor of Maharashtra. BJP National President and Union Minister JP Nadda said during a press conference on Sunday, "We discussed with all the parties involved in the NDA and suggestions were also sought from them. After this, everyone approved the name of CP Radhakrishnan as the NDA candidate.


He is currently the Governor of Maharashtra and hails from Tamil Nadu." Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi supported the name of CP Radhakrishnan. He wrote on the social media platform X, "NDA candidate for Vice President CP Radhakrishnan has our full support. We are with the NDA from the road to the House." Let us tell you that Chandrapur Ponnusamy Radhakrishnan was appointed to the post of Governor of Maharashtra on 31 July 2024. Prior to this, he served as the Governor of Jharkhand for about one and a half years.


Apart from this, he has also held the additional charge of Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. Born on 20 October 1957 in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, CP Radhakrishnan started his political career as a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) volunteer in 1974 and became a member of the State Executive Committee of Bharatiya Jana Sangh. In 1996, he was appointed Secretary of BJP Tamil Nadu. After this, he was elected Lok Sabha MP from Coimbatore in 1998 and 1999. Apart from this, he delivered a speech as part of the parliamentary delegation at the United Nations General Assembly in 2004 and also participated in the first parliamentary visit to Taiwan. He was the state president of BJP Tamil Nadu from 2004 to 2007. He was the All India In-charge of BJP Kerala from 2020 to 2022. He was also appointed Governor of Jharkhand on 18 February 2023.
