Encounter begins in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir, security forces surround three Jaish terrorists, internet suspended in area
Kishtwar (The Uttam Hindu): Security forces have surrounded terrorists hiding in the Dolgam area of Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir, and an encounter is currently underway. Heavy firing is ongoing from both sides. According to officials, security forces re-established contact with the terrorists early Saturday morning. The Army stated that intelligence inputs from multiple sources were carefully coordinated to plan and execute the operation on the ground.
Sharing details on social media platform X, the White Knight Corps said that under the ongoing joint operation “Trashi-I,” troops of the White Knight Corps, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF established contact with terrorists in the general Dolgam area on the morning of January 31.
The entire area has been cordoned off from all sides, and the operation is continuing. This is the fourth contact with terrorists in this region over the past two weeks. Meanwhile, Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma visited Kishtwar to review the counter-terrorism grid. The operation aims to eliminate a group of three Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists hiding in the district.
Mobile internet suspended for security reasons
Officials said that mobile internet services have been temporarily suspended within a radius of about six kilometers covering Singhpora, Chingam, and Chatroo areas to prevent any misuse by anti-national elements during the operation.
