Encounter in Chhattisgarh: Security Forces Gun Down 6 Naxalites, Recover Heavy Arms

Narayanpur (The Uttam Hindu): Security forces have killed at least six Naxalites in a major operation in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh. Police has given information in this regard.

A senior police officer said that the encounter started in the forest of Abujhmad area on Friday afternoon when security forces and Naxalites came face to face. Security forces had launched a joint operation after receiving intelligence about the presence of Naxalites in the area.

The officer said that so far the bodies of six Naxalites have been recovered from the encounter site after the firing between security forces and Naxalites. Apart from this, AK-47/SLR rifles, other weapons, explosive materials and many items of daily use have also been recovered from the spot. The police officer also said that the search operation is still going on in the area.
