Former Trump Adviser John Bolton's Home Searched by FBI Amid National Security Probe
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The FBI has raided the house of US President Donald Trump's former security adviser and now his staunch critic John Bolton. This action came a day after Bolton criticized Trump's policy of relations with India and the way he imposed punitive tariffs.
Shortly after the raids began, Patel wrote in a cryptic post on X, "No one is above the law. FBI agents on a mission." The development comes days after John Bolton commented on the US tariff policy. His remarks come a day ahead of the crucial summit between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Anchorage, Alaska on Friday. Earlier, in an interview, Bolton had called Trump a perverted president. He had said that India-US relations are in a very bad state. He criticised Washington's confused attitude towards India and questioned the decision to impose a 25 per cent penalty on New Delhi and exempt China from similar measures. The former Trump adviser was referring to the additional 25 per cent tariff imposed by the US on Russian oil imports from India, taking the total tariff to 50 per cent.
John Bolton has been vocal about the US President's recent tariff measures. In a post on X last week, he wrote, "When Trump imposed tariffs on India for buying Russian oil, but not on China, which also buys oil from Russia, it may have pulled India further into the Beijing-Moscow axis. This indifference of the Trump administration is an unintentional mistake."
