PM Modi wrote on Twitter, "Today, on Yugabda 5127, Vikram Samvat 2082, Falgun Shukla Ashtami, the first meeting of the Union Cabinet was held at the newly built Seva Teerth. Many unprecedented decisions were taken for the country. During this, the Cabinet also resolved that Seva Teerth, built on the foundation of indigenous thinking, modern form and the infinite potential of 1.4 billion countrymen, will continuously carry forward the duty-sacrifice of serving the nation. Our mantra in this national yagya is – Yad Bhadram Tann Aa Suva. Meaning, whatever is auspicious and beneficial, whatever new ideas there are, we should continue to receive them."
During the meeting, the Cabinet resolved that "Seva Teerth," based on indigenous thinking, a modern format, and the strength of 1.4 billion citizens, would continuously advance the duty of serving the nation. Referring to the Vedic mantra "Yad Bhadram Tann Aa Suvah," it was said that all auspicious and benevolent thoughts should continue to be received.
"Seva Teerth" has been described as a visible manifestation of the new India being reconstructed. For decades after independence, the Prime Minister's Office operated from South Block. The new complex replaces temporary barracks built during the British era. It is being seen as a symbol of a confident and modern India, moving beyond the symbols of slavery.
The Cabinet reiterated that every decision taken in this complex will be inspired by the spirit of "Nagrik Devo Bhava." The governance culture will be driven by the Constitution's values of dignity, equality, and justice. Emphasis was placed on further strengthening transparency, accountability, and a citizen-centric approach.
Referring to the achievements of past years, it was stated that more than 250 million people have been lifted out of poverty. Millions of citizens received health coverage under Ayushman Bharat, while food security was extended to approximately 800 million people through the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, more than 120 million toilets were constructed and more than 40 million permanent homes were built. Through the Jal Jeevan Mission, tap water was provided to more than 120 million rural households.
With the mantra of "Minimum Government, Maximum Governance," the Cabinet hailed reforms such as GST, DBT, and Digital India as important steps towards transparent and effective governance. The goal was to accelerate the pace of the "Reform Express" to position India among the top three economies in the world in the near future.
Reiterating the resolution of 'Developed India 2047' in the meeting, it was said that the new work culture driven by 'Seva Teerth' will play an important role in making the country a self-reliant, strong and prosperous nation.
